Enlist into the Hot Wheels Academy

It won’t be easy to become a Hot Wheels Legend. You’ll need to prove that you can master the extreme speeds of Hot Wheels Park before progressing onto faster and faster car classes. The Hot Wheels Academy introduces a new progression system that’s divided into five tiers with rewards, events and Missions associated to each.

A pair of Hot Wheels Baja Boneshakers, one blue, the other pink, approach a rocky arch in the canyon biome. The blue vehicle is reflecting itself and the world around it. Blue and orange tracks are visible in the background.

Start in the Rookie Rank with B Class cars and complete Missions to earn Hot Wheels Medals and fill the Rank meter. Each Rank features a set of Major and Minor Missions, consisting of races, PR Stunts, and unique challenges that reward Medals, new cars, and valuable rewards such as car horns and cosmetics.

Earn Medals to unlock new Qualifier events and prove your driving ability to progress to the next Hot Wheels Rank in your journey, including Pro (A Class), Expert (S1 Class), Elite (S2 Class) and Legend (X Class). Remember that you won’t be able to use your high PI-rated cars in free roam until you’ve unlocked and beaten the associated Qualifier!

Races in Horizon Hot Wheels Park are divided into Speed and Hazard events. Speed Races are designed around high-speed track racing while Hazard Races utilize each of the biomes to take the action off-road. You’ll be able to set record times on both in Hot Wheels Rivals.

After a long hot day of racing in the deserts and jungles of Mexico, there's no better way to cool down than on the Forza Horizon 5 ice tracks.

There’s also a new Horizon Story. Hot Wheels: A History of Speed features five chapters, which are unlocked alongside your Hot Wheels Rank, taking you on a comprehensive journey of the history of Hot Wheels as you perform fun stunts and challenges along the way.

Race Your Friends and the Community

Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels features numerous options for online play. In a first for the franchise, you can now join friends and play the entire expansion from the very beginning in co-op, including the introductory Hot Wheels Expedition. You can also team up and race Drivatars in Horizon Tour – located in the Forest Falls biome – or compete against the world in Horizon Open with Open Racing, Custom Racing, Leaderboards and Badges.

Due to the more enclosed nature of Hot Wheels tracks, as well as their increased speed and extreme verticality, it became clear to us during the development of Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels that online racing on Hot Wheels Park is more fun and enjoyable when player-to-player collisions are disabled. This setting only applies to Open Racing on Hot Wheels Park and doesn’t impact the base game.

Orange Hot Wheels tracks interconnect and loop around the dense forestry of the jungle region of Tree Tops.

You can also create your own Hot Wheels adventure in EventLab. The Hot Wheels Creation Kit features over 80 track and stunt pieces that can be instantly snapped together. Unleash your imagination and bring your most innovative ideas to life anywhere in the world of Hot Wheels Park or Mexico. What’s more, Blueprints created on the base game map that utilize Hot Wheels props can even be played by non-expansion owners!

Get Your Skills On

Horizon Hot Wheels Park features a new UI reticle that we’re calling G-Forza! This roll indicator dynamically changes based on the car’s rotation while driving on Hot Wheels tracks with skills being triggered based on the car’s speed and tilt angle. You can bank skill after a certain minimum distance of being consistently tilted, or you can keep the skill chains going by driving extreme but clean!

The new G-Forza UI reticle can be visually deactivated by navigating to Settings > HUD and Gameplay > Hot Wheels Roll Indicator > On/Off. Doing so will not prevent you from earning G-Forza skills.

Additionally, we’ve added a Motion Blur toggle on console allowing players to choose between Short and Long Motion Blur or disable the feature entirely.
